THE MAGIC OF A BRAND NEW YEAR
“Friends are giddy, caviar is glistening, the old year is ending and the new year is whatever I say it is.” - Lisa Kogan
You stand at the entrance to a new year – a brand new year of pure potential! Potential for joy, connection, love, adventure, passion, health, relationships, and fulfillment beyond anything you’ve ever experienced before. This new year is a blank check to be filled out as you see fit; a blank canvas to be painted from your own unique perspective. These 366 precious days can and will be whatever YOU decide.
In 2012, any limiting belief can be replaced with an empowering belief. All outdated, unhealthy habits can be transformed into fresh, life-enhancing habits. Sad stories of disappointment can be re-written as thrilling YES, I CAN stories. Here are some of my favorite ways to prepare for the new year:
Identify your desires for 2012. Tune in to what excites you the most, what quickens your pulse, what makes your energy surge when you think about it. Listen for what your heart is calling you to be and do and have.
If you’re not clear about the specifics of your desires, simply describe how you want to F-E-E-L.
Choose a theme to inspire you and get you back on track throughout the inevitable ups and downs. Your theme is a dominant intention, a powerful focus, a guide that gently whispers, “come this way, come this way.” (My theme for 2012 is The Year of True Freedom.)
It’s also fun to fast forward to January 1, 2013 and imagine what wins, successes, and manifestations you’ll be celebrating a year from now. As you do this, see and feel how, in 2012, you were the most joyful, the most adventurous, the most successful (according to your own definition of success), the most alive, the most free, the most empowered, the most aligned, the most intuitive, the most creative, the most loving, the most appreciative, and the healthiest, wealthiest, wisest YOU ever!
Abraham-Hicks suggests writing out dominant intentions for your body, your relationships, your home, and your work. For each of these four categories, write a general description of how you want to feel and be. Relax and daydream about each topic and see it in your mind’s eye the way you want to experience it. Imagine how wonderful it feels. Conjure positive images that thrill you. Take pleasure from each vision and stay there until you feel refreshed. As you focus your Energy in this way, know that the entire Universe is always by your side to assist you.
Martha Beck recommends this four-step process:
Find what your heart yearns for.
Resolve to receive it.
Everyday, for at least 5 minutes, sit quietly and pretend that you already have what your heart is yearning for.
After picturing your desire fulfilled, completely let go of the image and return to the present moment.
I created an exercise called Cherishing the Magic of 2011 / Creating a Magical 2012. Email me and I’ll send you a copy right away. It may be just what you’re looking for.
Whether you do a formal process of intention setting or not, to make sure 2012 is not just another year, be sure to do this one thing: With all the enthusiasm, excitement, and eagerness you can muster,
Proclaim right here right now that 2012 IS absolutely your best year ever!

If you will stop saying: world or universe or god or Abraham or mother or lover or employer or employee or friend.
If you will stop saying: Give me something so that I can feel good because I want to feel good, and after all you sort of owe it to me to give me something to make me feel good because I want to feel good…
If you’ll stop saying that, meaning that, feeling that… And instead you’ll say: It is my responsibility to conjure a framework of thought that causes me to feel a little better now and a little better now and a little better now…
If you will show yourself your ability to manifest the emotion, without demanding a condition to change first, now you’ve got it.
Because once you achieve the vibrational stability of feeling good anyway, the condition has to change.

The process of the Law of Attraction can be described in three stages:
1) Ask – can be voiced as an affirmation or request, but must contain the relevant emotional energy. This process is generally automatic, as having desires that stimulate emotion is our primary function, but we often fail to hold the correct emotional frequency and block the manifestation from arriving in our field of immediate experience.
2) Manifestation – largely not your work, but made possible by the Zero-Point Field as directed by universal intelligence, however some level of action is required to keep the channels of manifestation open.
3) Receive or Allow – by transmitting the emotional signature of the request as a general state of being, and taking appropriate and enthusiastic action, consciousness soon recognizes the desired experience as a feature of reality. Co-creation has occurred.
